Embossed Star Background
This tutorial was written using PSP7, but can probably be done in earlier versions with a few adjustments.
** Remember to save your work often! **
1. Open a new transparent image 200 x 200. Set your foreground color to White and Flood Fill your image.
** NOTE ** It has been pointed out to me that if you use Krusty's FX filters from within Filters Unlimited, you will not achieve the same results. It will need to be installed separately. Thanks Suz!
2. Go to Effects - Plug-in Filters - Krusty's FX Vol. II 2.0 - Generator K-1. I am using the default settings for this tutorial, but you can change the colors by moving the Red, Green and Blue sliders until you get a color you like.
3. Go to Effects - Artistic Effects - Colored Edges and use these settings:
Luminance 45
Blur 10
Color Black
Intensity 10
4. Go to Effects - Reflection Effects - Kaleidoscope and use these settings:
Horizontal Offset -11
Vertical Offset -29
Rotation Angle 45
Scale Factor 4
Number of Petals 8
Number of Orbits 1
Radial Suction 10
5. Go to Effects - Plug-in Filters - Simple - Blintz. The filter will be automatically applied.
6. Go to Effects - Plug-in Filters - Simple - Diamonds.
7. Go to Effects - Plug-in Filters - FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss. Use the default settings.
8. Layers - Merge - Merge All (Flatten) and you're done. Your background is already seamless and ready to use.
A very special Thank You to Suz for testing this tutorial for me :-)
