Valentine Wreath
This tutorial was written using PSP7, but can probably be done in earlier versions with a few adjustments.
** Remember to save your work often! **
1. Open a transparent image 200 x 200. Set your foreground to #AF5F68 and your background to Pattern and select the "jd-lace" pattern (scale 50% - angle 0).
2. Add a new Raster Layer (all layers will be Raster layers). Load the "jd-heart1" selection (Selections - Load from Disk). Flood fill with your lace pattern. Keep selected.
3. Go to Selections - Float. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use these settings:
Color Black
Opacity 45
Blur 10
Vertical and Horizontal 0.
4. Selections - Select None.  Go to Effects - Geometric Effects - Wave and use these settings:
Horizontal and Vertical Amplitude 2
Horizontal and Vertical Wavelength 15.
5. Selections - Select None.
6. Add a new layer. Load the "jd-heart2" selection. Fill with your foreground color. Selections - Select All, then Selections - Float. Add the same Cutout. Selections - Select None. Apply the Wave as before, but change the Amplitude on both sides to 1. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow and use these settings:
Color Black
Opacity 55
Blur 10
Vertical and Horizontal 0.
7. Change your foreground color to #DAA4AD. Add a new layer. Load the "jd-heart3" selection and fill with your foreground color. Selections - Float. Add the same Cutout. Selections - Select None. Add the same Drop Shadow.
8. Layers - Merge - Merge Visible. Go to Image - Resize by 40%. Then Image - Sharpen - Sharpen. Now go to Edit - Copy and minimize this image.
9. Open a new transparent image 300 x 300. Go to Edit - Paste as New Layer. Using your Mover tool move the heart that you just pasted up toward the top center of your image as shown:
10. Go to Layers - Duplicate, then Image - Flip. Hide Layer 1 by clicking the little glasses on this layer of your Layer Palette and merge the other layers Visible.
11. Now go to Layers - Duplicate, then Image - Rotate. Select 90 degrees (right or left; it doesn't matter). Make sure "All Layers" is unchecked. Your image should look like this:
12. Hide Layer 1 and Merge the other layers Visible. Go to Layers - Duplicate, then Image Rotate. Select 45 degrees free (again, direction doesn't matter). Image - Sharpen - Sharpen.
13. Hide Layer 1 and Merge the other layers Visible. Go to Layers - Duplicate, then Image Rotate. Select 22 degrees free (again, direction doesn't matter). Remember to Sharpen your image after you Rotate it.
14. Hide Layer 1 and Merge the other layers Visible. You can now export as a tube (File - Export - Picture Tube) or save in psp format. Here is the finished image with a drop shadow added (yours will have a transparent background).
