Wood Frame

This tutorial was written using PSP7, but can probably be done in earlier versions with a few adjustments.

** Remember to save your work often! **

1. Open a new transparent image 300 x 350.

Flood fill with a wood pattern.

2. Go to Selections - Select All.  Then Selections - Modify - Contract by 25.

3. Hit Delete on your keyboard.  Now Selections - Invert.  You will now have this:

4. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel.  Select the Frame Preset from the drop-down list and leave the default settings.

5. Selections - Select None.

6. You can now save in psp format, export as a tube (File - Export - Picture Tube), or save as a .pfr file in your PSP frames folder (your frame will have a transparent background).  To save as a Picture Frame, go to File - Save As.  Give your frame a name (be sure to add the .pfr extension), browse to your PSP/Frames folder and Save.

7. You can decorate with tubes, dingbats or anything you like.   Just use your imagination!   Here are a few examples:
